In this tutorial, you will learn to install virtualbox and then load it with the actual virtual machine hard drive that hosts the Gazebo simulation environment.
Note that we typically assume a Windows installation here, though a Mac (apple/intel silicon) and Linux follow closely.
Our first step is to install the Virtualbox software to your machine (Virtualbox supports Windows, Mac, Linux). Download the installation file for your machine from:https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads
The next step is to import the actual machine. Start by downloading the .ova file (7.5GB) from:
https://drive.usercontent.google.com/download?id=1XUgjDld8QgGLGNJP_jzgFoZrupmyQqGW&export=download&authuser=0
Place the .ova file in a path like: /Documents/Virtual Machines/arm2025
Place the: ARM_Challenge_2025.ova inside the folder.
Open VirtualBox and select File -> Import Appliance or do Ctrl+I
Select the .ova file. You will see something like this:
